2009-2010 Pacific Gas & Electric Y-Ball Project

PJ Helicopters was hired by PG&E to change out insulators on over 900, 500KV towers. The project was to change out the hardware on select towers and insulators that had Y-Ball clevis hardware on the cold end of the insulators. The change out was necessary due to the failure of the Y-ball clevis and the wire being dropped to the ground. PJ Helicopters, alongside the General Construction crews of PG&E, were able to complete this project safely with no incident, ahead of schedule.
